The on-site inspection consists of:
All inspection results are documented using specialized software, supported with images, and raw measurement data is stored.
A preliminary assessment (stable / not stable) can already be made on site.
The final assessment is carried out in the office and includes:
The inspection report ensures legal certainty for mast operators.
Raw data is stored and linked to a unique mast ID
Results are stored in a database, enabling monitoring of the mast condition over time through repeated inspections.
Outcomes of the inspection include:
Data can be exported in formats compatible with the client's specialized information systems.
VCE at the Lighting Technology Congress 2025 in Innsbruck.
Martin Fritz (VCE) and Johannes Koppelhuber (FNDT) presented:
“Mast Structural Stability Inspections: State of the Art & Operator Responsibility”
The LIMOS® method – an innovative approach for assessing the structural stability of masts – was at the heart of the presentation. This method enables a well-founded, efficient, and future-oriented evaluation of infrastructure components in public spaces.
The presentation was a successful example of the technical expertise and practical relevance with which VCE contributes to key issues in traffic safety and infrastructure planning.
We are delighted to participate in the Lighting Technology Congress 2025 in Innsbruck and to gain exciting insights into the latest developments in the industry.
Our presentation
“Structural Stability Inspections – State of the Art and Operator Responsibility”
will take place on the second day of the congress, May 21, 2025.
We very much look forward to meeting you and engaging in professional discussions!
We would be happy to talk in detail about your projects and how we can contribute to them.
ORF.at features our LIMOS® method in use for Vienna's lighting masts.
Lighting masts are exposed to significant stress every day – environmental influences, wear and tear, and accidents all take their toll. To detect damage at an early stage, the City of Vienna is now relying on an innovative method for structural stability assessment, as reported in the current ORF article.
VCE developed this method, which has been in use in Austria and Germany since 2006. LIMOS® enables non-destructive testing of masts, allowing their condition to be quickly assessed and documented on site. The advantages: no traffic disruptions, no operational interruptions, and maximum legal certainty for operators.
We will be attending the Lighting Technology Congress 2024 from June 4 to 5 in Andau, Burgenland.
Our poster on structural stability inspections will be on display in the congress foyer throughout the entire event.
